Unidirectional Flushing- EAST SIDE AREA
The Town of Culpeper Public Works Department will be performing unidirectional flushing (UDF) of water distribution in sections of the East Side including, Lover’s Lane, Industry Drive, McDevitt Drive, and Maddox Drive, beginning Tuesday, 7/5/22 through Wednesday, 7/6/22, weather permitting. Flushing crews will be working daily from 4:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
A work zone will be in place during operations. Motorists are asked to pay attention to changing conditions in this area and drive slowly in the work zone.
Some discoloration of water should be expected, but the condition should be temporary. Should water discoloration persist, please call the Public Works Department at (540) 825-0285.
In observance of Independence Day, Town Offices will be closed Monday, July 4th, 2022 and will re-open on Tuesday, July 5th at 8:00AM.

4th of July Entertainment & Fireworks Display
The 4th of July Festival Committee in conjunction with the Town of Culpeper will hold its
annual 4th of July Festival. Festivities will begin with the Freedom 5K Race at 8:00 AM,
followed by family friendly entertainment at Yowell Meadow Park. Activities will include
children’s kayaking on the pond (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM), food and variety vendors (11:00
AM – 8:00 PM), our annual Patriotic Presentation with a flyover from Capital Wing (1:00
PM), moon bounces, rock wall & hayrides (1:00 – 7:30 PM), as well as live music by Mo
Safren & Friends (4:30-7:30 PM). The Freedom Car & Bike Show will be held on East
Davis Street from 10:00 AM - 3:00PM.
The Patriotic Presentation will be held at the Charters of Freedom Monument in Yowell
Meadow Park at 1:00 PM. The presentation will begin with a courtesy flyover conducted
by Commemorative Air Force’s Capital Wing with vintage WWII aircraft during this
The fireworks display will be held at Rockwater Park. Fireworks are scheduled to begin
around 9:15 PM. Rockwater Park will be closed to the public beginning at 5:00 PM on
July 4, 2022, including both parking lots.
